Razey Orchards

Meet Bill Razey

Welcome to Razey Orchard

The Razey family has farmed this land overlooking the Naches River for more than 100 years. Bill and Mary Kay Razey have a deep commitment to this family legacy, the sustainability of their orchard, and the long-term health of their community.

Products Available

Certified Organic Bing, Lambert, and Rainier Cherries and Honeycrisp Apples.

Growing Philosophy

"Food is sacred. Everyone needs it to live. We believe the water, ground, and plants that produce the food we grow are also sacred. It is profound honor to take care of this land that provides such sweet and wonderful fruit."

-- Bill Razey

Organic Growing Methods

Razey Orchard was certified organic by the WSDA in 1997. They try as a matter of course to reduce all inputs. When they need to increase the health of their soil and trees, or when they need to combat insect infestation, only certified organic inputs are used.

Protecting the Soil

Bill uses a cover crop of grass and clover to protect the soil from wind erosion. The cover crop also provides a habitat for beneficial insects. He uses composted manure as well as adding other needed nutrients based on soil tests which are conducted every three years.

Commitment to Community

Over time, the health of rural farm communities has been dependent on the commitment of community members. Bill and Mary Kay contribute to the health of Naches by serving as Emergency Medical Technicians with the Naches Volunteer Fire Department.
