Volunteer or intern with Farming and the Environment and the Des Moines Waterfront Farmers Market

Farming & the Environment is looking to grow its team in 2007 as we embark on  the second successful year of our farmers market, retail, and farm cooperative programs.  We're creating a handful of  internship opportunities for self-motivated individuals who are passionate about supporting our local farmers and protecting the environment.

Staff and interns will meet monthly as a group, giving all interns an opportunity to learn about the various aspects of our organization and share ideas on how to strengthen our efforts as a team.  As a small non-profit, a unique opportunity exists for the right candidate to grow into higher levels of responsibility and take on special projects over time.  All interns must make a minimum three month commitment.

Internships

Accounting Intern (Unpaid):

Farmers Market Interns:

Volunteer Help

Stewardship Award Event Planning: Help our event planner line up fun activities and other details for our annual Vim Wright Stewardship Award dinner which brings together farmers and environmentalists in celebration of stewardship.

We need help designing our invitations, planning event logistics, & developing our communications. These volunteers would work with our event planner between now and September, offering whatever amount of time they had available.

Farmers Market Volunteer: This is a great opportunity to get to know the farmers, meet the Des Moines community, and help support the first Washington State farmers market dedicated to stewardship of our environment & health.  Find out more.
