Nash Organic's Award-Winning Crew

We are pleased to announce Farming & the Environment's 2006 Vim Wright Stewardship Award Winners! These farmers are protecting the quality of our food and long-term health of Washington's ecosystems. Click their name to learn more about their exemplary stewardship practices.

Winner: Nash's Organic Produce

Long time organic grower, Nash Huber works tirelessly to preserve local farmland and the future of farming in Clallam County. Nash will be rewarded with $2,500 for his exemplary stewardship practices.  Read their article in the local Peninsula Daily News.

First Runner-Up: Cascade Crest Organics

A diversified tree fruit grower using organic growing methods, the Keith Stennes family has been on the land in the Methow River Valley for five generations. The Stennes family will be rewarded with $1,000 for their outstanding land stewardship. Read their article in The Chronicle.

Second Runner-Up: Reiner Farms

Reiner Farms, a cattle and hay operation, has been on the land for five generations. Dale Reiner is providing high quality salmon habitat restoration in the Skykomish River Valley.
